Finland

Located in northeastern Europe, Finland is a land of Winter and Saunas. Bordered on the northwest with Sweden, Finland's vast expanse of land is broken only by thousands of lakes throughout the country. Helsinki, the Capital is located on the south coast.

Aland Islands Aland Islands
Located off the southwest coast of Finland, the Aland Islands national border has changed often from Finland to Sweden. Populated by fishing communities, the islands are desolate and rocky.
Eastern Finland Eastern Finland
The province of Eastern Finland is home to the largest lake in Finland, Saimaa. The region is scattered with lakes and small towns.
Lapland Lapland
The province of Lapland is located in the northern corner of Finland. This region is home to the Sami people. Lapland has cool summers and even colder winters as the region is in the extreme north. Places of natural beauty are everywhere.
Oulu Province Oulu
The Province of Oulu in Finland is located beside Lapland. Having a total population of half a million, the province is very sparse. The province has several large rivers and most of the land is covered in northern forests hence the major logging. The city of Oulu is located in the province along the coast.
Southern Finland Southern Finland
Located in the south, the province of Southern Finland has a population of approx. two million people. The main city, Helsinki is located in the province. Many small towns have the unique Finn heritage and local customs from days gone by.
Western Finland Western Finland
Southwest of Oulu and west of Southern Finland Provinces, the province of Western Finland includes inland and coastal settings. Turku is the large city which resides within the province.
